HP 4L 4P MOTOR JAM REPAIR KIT
If you have a HP Laserjet 4L/4ML/4P/4MP that will power up you hear the motor running but no rollers turn and it goes to a error condition this kit is for you.
The motor while running before the error also makes a whirring grind noise. A simple way to check the gear being bad is to touch the exit roller in the top exit tray area while it is powering up initially and you will hear the tone change of the grinding noise.
The motor gear repair is for 1 replacement motor gear. Many repair shops will sell you the complete motor assembly for over 50 dollars plus labor when the motor is fine (100+ dollar repair). The gear is plastic and is a very common failure for the printer. Fortunately for you the repair takes about 30-45 minutes and your printer will be like new again!
